Rihanna cancels Victoria's Secret fashion show performance

While most fashion folks get most excited about the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show because it gives them a chance to cheer their favorite supermodels on, another huge draw for the annual event is the musical programming. For the upcoming edition of the show, the lineup is stacked, with Rihanna, the Weeknd and Selena Gomez all slated to take the stage as women like Gigi Hadid, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge and (reportedly) Kendall Jennerstrut their stuff. But on Tuesday, the brand confirmed that RiRi — who last performed at the VS Fashion Show back in 2012 — has suddenly dropped out of the event, which tapes next week on Nov. 10, and airs on CBS on Dec. 8. The news was first reported by People.

This being Victoria's Secret, the company has already filled the empty slot on the bill. According to People, British songstress Ellie Goulding will step in for Rihanna. Goulding will be a VS Fashion Show first-timer, but with a handful of newbie models like Hadid already on deck, she'll be in good company.
